It is so good to be able to get away for a bit of travel. It is very different not traveling with Earle, but it is just not safe for him at this point.
IWoke up this morning to a blustery, snowy day and had thoughts about how the drive was going to be to the airport. By the time I had to leave the house, the snow had stopped, the roads were plowed and the drive was uneventful.
Headed to The Parking Spot to get the shuttle to the airport. Amy had texted me that she had dropped CJ and Cokie off at Big Girl Camp and she was on her way also. Got the car parked and on the shuttle to get to PIT by 8:45. It was earlier than I had planned, but with the weather I left plenty of time to get there. This was the first that I had been in the new airport and it is beautiful.
Amy got there shortly after and we headed to the Admiral’s Club for breakfast. Amy had her mimosa and I stuck with orange juice and coffee.
Headed down to the gate and got there in time to board our plane to Charlotte. Sitting in MCE, we had the opportunity for a drink and so it was almost noon and I had a Bloody Mary. Amy had a diet Coke. We both had our Kindles and read a bit interspersed with conversation. We landed a bit early, but waited for almost 20 minutes for a gate. On to the Charlotte Admiral’s Club to enjoy a Prosecco and some snack mix.
We had upgraded our flight to Orlando so we could board very quickly. Love that you can get a beverage while everyone else is boarding. It was so nice to have such comfortable seats and another Prosecco.
Amy knitted a bit and I read. A very uneventful flight, but what a wait for luggage - almost a half hour.
It was then on to the Mears bus for our ride to the Contemporary Resort, our home for the next five nights. Mickey’s ears greeted us.
Unpacked and headed to the food court for dinner. Amy had a rice bowl and I had a turkey sandwich. Back to hotel to settle in for the night. It was an early morning and we both were
